• As a second time homeowner, we have grown ‘wiser’ and know what to expect in our search for ID for our second home. Having met with over ten interior designers, ranging from well-established renovation firms to smaller, lesser-known studios like Underrated Studio, we were intrigued by the overwhelming praise for Jayne and we were truly impressed with her knowledge and personality in our first appointment. The quotation given is transparent and detailed, and while they may not the cheapest offer we had, we went for them because we were truly comfortable working together with Jayne and this proves to the best decision we have taken.

  Throughout the project, Jayne proved herself to be one of the most diligent interior designers we’ve encountered. She was tirelessly hands-on at the site, ensuring her team executed her vision with precision. Despite being a second time homeowner, there is so much knowledge to learn from her as she is always so willing to share during our tile and laminate selection, lightings and drafting stage.

  As we navigated the renovation process, unforeseen challenges arose due to the poor condition of the property we acquired. However, Jayne consistently provided us with multiple well-considered solutions, clearly outlining the advantages and disadvantages of each option. Our project presented additional complexities, including extensive renovation work and the need to halt progress during the Chinese New Year period. Jayne admirably accommodated our requests, ensuring that we could move into our new home by April without the inconvenience of storing our furniture off-site. Her team’s dedication to meeting our demanding timeline while simultaneously addressing any ongoing rectification work was truly commendable.

Even when faced with illness, she remained dedicated to our project, never once missing an appointment. • My husband and i went to 6 ID firms for a preliminary discussion on our home reno requirement and Underrated Studio was one of it. Out of 6, we pinned down 2 and in the end, decided to go with Underrated Studio, and our ID was Karen. We really cannot recommend her highly enough. From start to finish, the experience was great, and the results exceeded my expectations.

  Karen is knowledgeable and experienced. Unlike some other ID that we met who pushes their ideas to us, Karen practices active listening and was attentive to our needs and preferences, at the same time, providing insightful suggestions that enhanced the overall aesthetic and functionality of our home.

  Communication throughout the project was good. And she was able to handle her contractors well through her years of experience (that’s an important point for us). Though we already expected hiccups along the way, but hiccups were kept at the minimum, and Karen managed to handle them professionally. She was very hands on, at times where we needed some things to be rectified at a very last stage, she also came down and helped to do it personally. Not to mention that she also helped us fixing up some of our taobao buys (like dining tables and chairs).

  My husband and I couldn’t thank Karen enough for the quality of work and professionalism. The final outcome is a stunning place that perfectly reflects our style and meets our functional needs! Once again, thank you Karen.

• I had a great experience working with Connie for my BTO renovation. I really love the design of my home—it’s simple, cosy, and exactly what I had in mind. Connie was very helpful throughout the entire process, always ready to assist whenever I had questions or needed advice.

  What I appreciated most was her effort to work within my budget without compromising on the overall look and quality. She also showed great responsibility during the final checks, personally pointing out a defect in the cabinet that I hadn’t noticed. More importantly, she took the initiative to help resolve the issue promptly and professionally.

• After visiting multiple IDs, my wife and I engaged Jayne for our BTO renovation. Right from our first discussion, Jayne provided much value to our initial design by recommending design alternatives that are both aesthetic and practical and even went above and beyond expectations by doing a simple 3D rendering.
